The present invention is directed to an agent comprising an NFAT activation inhibitor for use in treating or preventing unwanted effects, more specifically, unwanted effects that occur with T cell mediated therapy. The undesirable effects may be those associated with inflammatory bowel disease, such as, for example, ulcerative colitis associated with cytokine release syndrome (CRS) or gastrointestinal (GI) inflammation, which is selectively triggered by activated T cell activation.
