PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain, in a general-purpose combine configured to perform maintenance from the upper side of a thrashing unit with a top plate being opened, both higher efficiency of the maintenance operation and simplification of the structure.SOLUTION: The general-purpose combine includes: the thrashing unit 22 for performing thrashing treatment a ladder 39 disposed on the front end side of an outer lateral side of the thrashing unit 22 a handrail to be held when ascending or descending the thrashing unit 22 through the ladder 39 and the top plate 33 for covering the upper part of the thrashing unit 22, which is supported in such a manner as to be vertically rotatable, the upper side of the thrashing unit 22 being opened and closed by the vertical rotation of the top plate 33.
