An oral composition comprising isobutylmagnolol； n-butylmagnolol； and an orally acceptable carrier； in which n-butylmagnolol is present in an amount effective to dissolve isobutylmagnolol in an orally acceptable carrier. The composition according to claim 1 in the form of a toothpaste. 3. A composition according to claim 1 in the form of a mouthwash. 4. A composition according to claim 1, in which isobutylmagnolol is present in an amount effective for antibacterial action. A composition according to claim 1, in which isobutylmagnolol is present in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 3% relative to the total weight of the composition. The composition of claim 1, wherein the weight ratio of isobutylmagnolol to n-butylmagnolol is from about 3: 1 to about 1: 3.7. The composition of claim 1, wherein the orally acceptable carrier comprises an additional ingredient selected from polyethylene glycol, a wetting agent, an anionic surfactant, a fatty acid monoester and propylene glycol, an effective amount of a fluoride ion source, a flavor, an abrasive, and a combination of two or more of them. 8. A composition according to any one of the above items, containing the following ingredients, wt.%: PEG600 2-5 isobutylmagnolol 0.5-3n-butylmagnolol 0.5-3glycerol 20-30sorbitol 20-30saccharin sodium 0.1-0.7 sodium fluoride 0.1 -0.7 sodium lauryl sulfate 1-3 abrasive silica 0-209. A method for treating, preventing or controlling a disease or pathological condition of the oral cavity, comprising applying the composition in accordance with any of the above points to the surface of the oral cavity of a patient in need thereof.
