Provided are pyridinyl- and pyrazinyl- methyloxy-aryl derivatives of the general formula (I), where the variables are as defined in the specification. Examples of the compounds include 7-(2-(methyloxy)-6-{ [(4-methyl-2-pyridinyl)methyl]oxy} phenyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benzazepine and 7-(5-fluoro-2-{ [(4-methyl-2-pyridinyl)methyl]oxylphenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoguinoline. The compounds are inhibitors of spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk). The compounds may be useful in the treatment of autoimmune and/or allergic disorders, particularly dermatological disorders, such as urticaria.
