The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a novel herbal formulation (DF2112), particularly useful for the management of inflammation. Formulation can be a solution form consisting water decoction of mixture of selected 12 plants in a specific proportion. DF2112 formulation was developed by preparing different mathematical combinations of its ingredient plants and assessing them on the basis of their in vitro free radical quenching as well as anti-inflammatory potential using various biochemical assays. The obtained results indicated that t newly developed formulation DF2112 possess excellent anti-inflammatory activity and is a potent candidate for further drug development as a treatment for inflammation. In this application, we report a specific process for the preparation of a novel and effective formulation named as DF2112, for the treatment of inflammation which is developed from a combination of 12 different plants in a specific proportion and prepared by a specific method of preparation.
