PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backpack-type power working machine that has excellent shouldering feeling, comfortability of operation, etc., and is easily conveyed when carried without being shouldered.SOLUTION: The backpack-type power working machine is equipped with a lower unit 3 that is a unit constituting the lower side of a body part 1 of the working machine shouldered by an operator and is furnished with a first face 6a opposing the back of the operator, an upper unit 4 that is a unit constituting the upper side of the body part 1 of the working machine and is furnished with a second face 10a opposing the back of the operator and a locking means 26 that changes the lower unit 3 and the upper unit 4 from a rotatable state to a nonrotatable state. Consequently, when the backpack-type power working machine is shouldered and operation is performed, the lower unit 3 and the upper unit 4 are rotatable and shouldering feeling and comfortability of operation are improved, and when the backpack-type power working machine is not shouldered and transported, the lower unit 3 and the upper unit 4 are nonrotatable and transportation is easily performed by stabilizing the center of gravity of the body part 1 of the working machine.작업자가 등에 메는 작업기 본체부(1)의 하측을 구성하는 유닛으로서, 작업자의 등에 대향하는 제 1 면(6a)을 구비한 하측 유닛(3)과, 작업기 본체부(1)의 상측을 구성하는 유닛으로서, 작업자의 등에 대향하는 제 2 면(10a)을 구비한 상측 유닛(4)을 회전 운동 가능하게 연결하고, 하측 유닛(3)과 상측 유닛(4)을 회전 운동 가능한 상태와 회전 운동 불가능한 상태로 전환하는 록 수단(26)을 형성함으로써, 등에 메고 작업할 때에는 하측 유닛(3)과 상측 유닛(4)을 회전 운동 가능하게 하여 등에 메는 느낌이나 작업의 쾌적성을 양호하게 하는 동시에, 등에 메지 않고 운반할 때는 하측 유닛(3)과 상측 유닛(4)을 회전 운동 불가능하게 하여 작업기 본체부(1)의 중심을 안정시킴으로써 운반하기 쉽게 한다.
