PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a riding type lawn mower which prevents cut lawn grass from accumulating around the mower and in a conveyance route caused by high speed travelling to thereby improve efficiency of grass cutting and collecting work.SOLUTION: The riding type lawn mower includes: an engine E a front wheel 2 and a rear wheel 3 a vehicle body frame 1 a mower 15 provided in vehicle body frame 1 through a lifting link 16 a chute 37 provided behind the mower 15 a collector 40 for housing lawn grass from the chute 37 mowing height detection means 107 for detecting the mowing height of the mower 15 and a control device 100 having a speed regulation function for regulating the travelling speed of the front wheel 2 and the rear wheel 3 to or below a prescribed speed when the mowing height of the mower 15 from the mowing height detection means 107 is equal to or below a preset set value. When the mowing height is low, the riding type lawn mower does not travel at high speed since its travelling speed is regulated.
