PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a homogeneous and stable retort-sterilized gelatinized nutritive preparation as a fluid diet with protein therein prevented from aggregation and segregation.
SOLUTION: The retort-sterilized gelatinized nutritive preparation essentially contains protein, lipids, carbohydrates, vitamins and mineral(s) wherein the mineral(s) is at least calcium and/or magnesium. This gelatinized nutritive preparation also contains citric acid and/or its salt. A method for producing the gelatinized nutritive preparation is provided, comprising the following process: Water is mixed essentially with the protein, lipids, carbohydrates, vitamins and mineral(s) followed by emulsification to obtain a nutritive preparation, to which a gelatinizer is added, followed by mixing, the resultant nutritive preparation is packed in a container and then retort-sterilized. In this process, the mineral(s) is at least calcium and/or magnesium, and citric acid and/or its salt is added.
