The present invention relates to novel extracts derived from plant resins of the genus Boswellia (Burseraceae). The invention further relates to a composition comprising the novel extract, in particular a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition, or a dietary supplement, food or beverage comprising the extract. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of said extract and the respective composition, in particular in the cosmetic or therapeutic field, and the use of said extract or composition comprising said extract in a dietary supplement.
