The invention relates to a construction with one or more milking machines for milking animals, such as cows, by means of at least one milking robot (3). A plurality of milking robots (3) is capable of being jointly connected to a first computer (1), while each of the milking robots (3) is provided with a second computer (5) of the relevant milking robot (3). The last-mentioned computer (5) is activated if no, or no appropriate, data exchange between the second computer (5) of the respective milking robot (3) and the joint computer (1) is possible.
