Risk area information is prepared and stored in advance for each acupuncture point. A needle position is tracked by a positioning system. When an acupuncture point is selected, risk area information corresponding to the selected acupuncture point is extracted from the stored risk area information, and an ultrasound image is recognized with the help of the risk area information to determine the risk area in an actual image.
