A user interface for a computer assisted surgery system is described. The user interface includes a working portion extending across the user interface. A plurality of images of different views of a body part of the patient are displayed in the working portion separately from other elements. An information portion is positioned below the working portion and extends across the user interface. Information relating to a current step illustrated by the images currently displayed in the working portion is displayed in the information portion. A control bar is positioned below the information portion and extends across the user interface. The control bar includes a plurality of control elements which can be operated to operate the computer assisted surgery system.
