The present invention pertains to a fusion polypeptide for use in treating and/or preventing organ failure in a subject suffering from sepsis, said fusion polypeptide comprises at least (i) a first portion being a Fc portion of an immunoglobulin and (ii) a second portion comprising the extracellular portion of the human B7-H1 polypeptide or a variant thereof. Moreover, also encompassed by the invention is a polynucleotide encoding said fusion polypeptide for use in treating and/or preventing organ failure in a subject suffering from sepsis.La présente invention concerne un polypeptide de fusion destiné à une utilisation dans le traitement et/ou la prévention d'une défaillance viscérale chez un patient souffrant d'une sepsie, ledit polypeptide de fusion comprenant au moins (i) une première partie qui est constituée d'une partie Fc d'une immunoglobuline et (ii) une seconde partie comprenant la partie extracellulaire du polypeptide B7-H1 humain ou un variant de ce dernier. De plus, l'invention concerne également un polynucléotide codant pour ledit polypeptide de fusion, destiné à une utilisation dans le traitement et/ou la prévention d'une défaillance viscérale chez le patient souffrant d'une sepsie.
