The present invention is related to an aqueous cleansing composition for keratin fibres, especially human hair, comprising at least one amino acid surfactant, and a cationic polymer. Accordingly, the object of the present invention is an aqueous cleansing composition comprising at least one amino acid surfactant of the following structurewherein R1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 C atoms, R2 is H or a methyl, R3 is H, COO- M+, CH2COO- M or COOH, n is 0 to 2, X is COO- or SO3- and M is independent from each other H, sodium or potassium, and starch derived cationic polymer, especially oxidized starch derived cationic polymer.
