PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To photograph excellent images when using an adaptor.
SOLUTION: The ophthalmic photographing apparatus includes a photographing optical system which projects at least part of light emitted from a light source to a predetermined site of a subjects eye through an inspection window that the subjects eye looks into, and which receives reflected light from the predetermined site of the subjects eye by a light receiving element and obtains the photographed image of the subjects eye. The ophthalmic photographing apparatus further includes: a mounted state detection means for detecting the mounted state of an optical adaptor mounted on the inspection window and a properness detection means for detecting whether or not the optical adaptor is properly mounted on the inspection window, then a detected result by the properness detection means is reported.
