PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by applying transmission apodization in elastic wave beam scanning in a subject information acquisition device having a simple transmission circuit configuration.SOLUTION: The subject information acquisition device includes: a plurality of transducer elements a plurality of pulsers for generating elastic waves according to the pulse width and amplitude of drive pulses from the transducer elements a switch for selecting the transducer element of a transmission opening and connecting it with the pulser a pulse control means for determining the amplitude of the drive pulse for each pulser block and determining the pulse width of the drive pulse and transmission timing for each pulser and an image processing means for generating the image of a subject from the reflected wave of an elastic wave beam formed at the transmission opening.
