PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam generating apparatus that has a simple structure, that can be miniaturized, and that excels in durability and quietness.SOLUTION: The steam generating apparatus 1 includes a water tank 11 composed of a bottom wall 12 and a cylindrical peripheral wall 13, a coil 41 wound around the outer face of the peripheral wall 13 of the water tank 11, and a cylindrical conductive heating unit 31 that is installed in the water tank 11 and that is induction-heated by a magnetic field generated by causing an AC current to flow in the coil 41.
