The device has a support cradle (1) supported by a mast (2). The mast is free to rotate and flex relative to the cradle. The mast is provided on a base (3) and adjustable and lockable in height. The base is flexibly hinged, and limited by a stop, where the base itself is supported on a same operating table (7) such that the base is interdependent on the operating table by a fixing unit provided on the operating table.
