To provide an absorbent article in which a top sheet having extruded protrusions and a second sheet are joined wherein occurrence of wrinkles in the top sheet in an MD direction is prevented. [Solution] This problem is solved by a method for producing an absorbent article whereby a non woven fabric (30S) and a material (40S) for a second sheet (40) are joined by a joining pattern of forming extruded protrusions (31) on the non woven fabric (30S) to become a top sheet (30) by embossing while transporting the same by drawing from a downstream side then the material for the second sheet (40) is combined with a rear face of the non woven fabric on which the extruded protrusions (31) are formed and between the extruded protrusions (31) adjacent in an MD direction top second joining parts (80) are formed in center positions in a CD direction corresponding to center parts in the CD direction of the adjacent extruded protrusions (31) and in side positions on both sides of the center positions in the CD direction. In the joining pattern joining ranges (A1 A2) in the MD direction of the top second joining parts (80) become wider continuously or stepwise from the center positions toward the sides.
