PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous pigment dispersion excellent in both washing fastness and rubbing fastness and to provide an ink for textile printing.SOLUTION: A pigment dispersant uses an urethane resin produced by reacting (a1-1) a polyester polyol as (a1) a polyol produced by reacting a polycarboxylic acid and a polyol, a polyol having a hydrophilic group which is an anionic group, a cationic group, a polyoxyethylene group, or a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene group, and (a2) a polyisocyanate group. A method for producing an aqueous pigment dispersion comprises dispersing a pigment in a water-soluble solvent and/or water by use of the pigment dispersant. A textile printing method comprises printing the aqueous pigment dispersion produced by the production method on a fabric.
