PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easy quantitative evaluation of germinating capacity of a seed as early as possible. SOLUTION: The method for the quantitative evaluation of the germinating capacity of a seed comprises (1) the first step to determine the expression level of one or more genes selected from the following gene group in a subject containing a cell derived from a seed and (2) the second step to quantitatively evaluate the extent of the germinating capacity of the seed composed of the cell in the subject based on a difference in quantitative and numerical comparison between the measured expression level of the gene of the subject obtained by the first step and that of a contrast group. Where, the gene group is composed of (a) LsGA3ox1, (b) LsGA2ox2, (c) LsNCED4 and (d) LsABA8ox3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
