The present invention individually controls elongation growth of a plurality of plant individuals that are cultivated in an identical cultivation zone. In a plant cultivation system (1), illumination light emitted from an elongation promoting illuminating section (2) and illumination light emitted from a standard illuminating section (3) have different influences on elongation growth of a plant. The elongation promoting illuminating section (2) and the standard illuminating section (3) irradiate respective different regions in an identical cultivation zone with the illumination light.
