PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a conventional electronic sphygmomanometer: the measuring time cannot be sufficiently reduced because a pressure must be increased at a speed so low that seven pulse waves are obtained for a person whose pulse is low, in order to recognize pulse wave intervals after starting to increase pressure.SOLUTION: The electronic sphygmomanometer increases the pressure in a cuff placed on a part of a human body to calculate the blood pressure on the basis of a pulse wave signal superimposed on the cuff pressure during pressure increase. In the sphygmomanometer, the position of a portion to be measured (an arm on which the cuff is placed) is detected before increasing the pressure of the cuff, a pressure increase speed is set depending on a pulse rate (pulse interval) of a subject which is obtained while measuring whether or not the portion to be measured is at a proper position of blood pressure measurement.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】従来の電子血圧計においては、加圧を開始してから脈波間隔の認識のために予め脈拍の遅い人でも脈波が7拍得られる遅い速度で加圧せざるおえないため、測定時間を十分短縮することができないという問題があった。
