A fentanyl-containing external application patch in which a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is laminated on a support is provided. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer contains a tackifier comprising SIS, rosin resin and terpene resin, and a softening agent composed of polybutene and liquid paraffin. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer also contains fentanyl as an active ingredient.
