To provide a thawing device and a thawing method capable of quickly thawing a frozen matter of biological-origin contained in a container.SOLUTION: A thawing device 10 comprises: a liquid flow path 16 connectable to a container 12； and a storage part 18 capable of storing a liquid L for thawing a frozen matter of biological origin 14.
