PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope device quickly detecting a desired examination portion from a moving image in which an examination image is recorded.SOLUTION: This endoscope device 1 includes: an image processing part 11 applying image processing to a pickup signal captured by an imaging element 8 provided in a tip part 2a to generate an endoscope image an insertion length detection part 7 detecting information related to an insertion length by which the tip part 2a is inserted into an examination target an insertion length signal processing part 13 applying prescribed signal processing to the information related to the insertion length to detect insertion length information a recording medium read/write part 16 associating data on the insertion length information to data on the endoscope image, storing them into one AVI file 20, and recording them into a recording medium 19 and a main control part 18 performing control to start reproduction from the first frame associated to a designated insertion length when the insertion length is designated in an insertion length designation edit box 49 for designating the insertion length during the reproduction of the AVI file 20 in a reproduction window 40.
