PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which surely prevents front leakage and does not cause reversion.SOLUTION: The absorbent article includes side standing gathers SG and SG along a longitudinal direction respectively at both side parts of a front surface side, and also includes a front standing gather FG along a width direction at a front end part of the front surface side, and a liquid impermeable material 9 is disposed at the front standing gather FG. Thus, even when a large amount of urine is discharged at once, it is blocked by the side standing gather SG and the front standing gather FG and is surely absorbed by an absorber 4, and the front leakage is prevented. Since the liquid impermeable material 9 is disposed at the front standing gather FG, even when the large amount of urine blocked by the front standing gather FG is intensively absorbed by the absorber 4 near the front standing gather FG, urine is covered with the liquid impermeable material 9 and thus the reversion is prevented.
