To provide an excision region marker instrument easily manufactured while excelling in usability such as facilitating puncture into tissue and excelling in recognizability as an indicator without increasing a burden ON a human body in addition to clear depiction onto an image diagnostic apparatus with neither slip-off nor positional deviation from the installed position of a marker after puncture.
SOLUTION: The excision region marker instrument is composed of a puncture needle 1 having a cutting edge at the tip, forming a predetermined length from the tip into helical shape and the base side into straight line shape and having an outer diameter of 0.6-1.8 mm and the width of the helical part being 4-18 mm, and a grip part 2 provided at the base part of the puncture needle. The width of the helical part 11 is formed to be almost constant and the straight line part 12 extends almost ON the axis of the helical and is configured to puncture independently in puncturing the tissue. A plate for regulating the puncture depth of the puncture needle is provided in addition to the marker instrument if necessary.
