The present invention relates to adjuvanted recombinant anti-rabies vaccines and the oral administration of such vaccines to raccoons and other wildlife. Advantageously, the anti-rabies vaccine may comprise a recombinant vaccinia virus containing a rabies glycoprotein gene. The invention encompasses methods of vaccinating raccoons and other wildlife by administration of an anti-rabies vaccines which may comprise a recombinant vaccinia virus containing a rabies glycoprotein gene, in combination with an adjuvant which increases both vaccine viscosity and efficacy. The invention provides effective oral recombinant vaccines used in oral rabies vaccination (ORV) programs for wildlife, effective at protecting raccoons, gray foxes, coyotes, and other animals.Linvention concerne des vaccins antirabiques de recombinaison avec adjuvant et ladministration orale de tels vaccins à des ratons laveurs et autres animaux sauvages. Lavantage du vaccin antirabique tient au fait quil peut contenir un virus de la vaccine de recombinaison renfermant un gène de glycoprotéine de la rage. Linvention concerne des méthodes de vaccination des ratons laveurs et autres animaux sauvages par administration dun vaccin antirabique pouvant contenir un gène de glycoprotéine de la rage combiné à un adjuvant augmentant à la fois la viscosité et lefficacité du vaccin. Avec cette invention, on dispose de vaccins de recombinaison efficaces à administration orale pour des programmes de vaccination antirabique danimaux sauvages convenant pour les ratons laveurs, renards gris, coyotes et autres animaux.
