PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deterioration in the erosion resistance and stability of a plant growth base by enabling the conveyance of a fluid containing crushed pieces of plants, without separating the crushed pieces of the plants from the fluid.SOLUTION: A material for use in the formation of the plant growth base is composed of the fluid containing soil, the crushed pieces of the plants, water, and a clay mineral. The clay mineral is composed of a clay mineral which does not expand even in the addition of the water.
