PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To practically manufacture an inlet valve, to assemble the suction vale into an engine, to improve engine efficiency, and to attain a position request of a compact inlet valve, in a cylinder liner and an inlet valve of a large two-stroke diesel engine.SOLUTION: An inlet valve 1 is connected to a scavenging area equipped with cylinder capacity in a cylinder located above a piston of an engine, and is configured of a valve body 5 which is located in a ring of individual flow slits 8 within the cylindrical wall of the cylinder, and has some movable valve elements 6, 7. The valve body 5 includes the movable valve elements 6, 7 provided in a gas flow passage, and moves to an opening position to open the gas flow passage and to a closing position to close the gas flow passage.
