PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradient magnetic field coil configuring wiring patterns without using a loop coil not penetrated by a z-axis.SOLUTION: The gradient magnetic field coil includes: a nearly solenoid-shaped first coil generating a magnetic field distribution linear in the axial direction, in an imaging region of a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and a nearly solenoid-shaped second coil disposed outside the first coil and inside a static magnetic field coil device, which generates a static magnetic field having a uniform magnetic field distribution in the imaging region, and suppressing a leakage magnetic field from the first coil to the static magnetic field coil device. In the gradient magnetic field coil, the interval between the first coil and the second coil is different in the circumferential direction and has a first region A1 (&theta=0, &pi) and a second region A2 (&theta=&pi/2) narrower than the first region A1.
