PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a material becomes unnecessarily thick because of large wrinkles made at the periphery of a pile bundle, that a gap formed by the wrinkles reduces liquid permeability in a front-back direction, and that fiber ends projecting from the pile bundle cause irritation to a skin.SOLUTION: A sheet-like material 80 for an absorbent article includes: a base layer 81 in which a plurality of fiber projecting holes 82 penetrating to the front and the back are formed at intervals a fiber aggregate layer 83 provided on one side of the base layer 81 and a pile bundle 84 which is formed by projecting a part, corresponding to the fiber projecting hole 82, in the fiber aggregate layer 83 from one side of the base layer 81 to the other side through the fiber projecting hole 82 and projects to the other side of the base layer 81. The fiber aggregate layer 83 comprises a bundle of continuous fibers continuing in a prescribed direction along the base layer 81, and the continuous fibers constituting at least the pile bundle 84 are not joined to each other.
