A method of preparing a ruminant feed mixture includes preparing a first mixture by combining a fatty acid component having an Iodine Value no greater than 10 with at least one feed material, preparing a second mixture by combining a surfactant and at least one liquid component, and mixing the first mixture and the second mixture to provide the ruminant feed mixture. The ruminant feed mixture is used in making dietary compositions for ingestion by ruminants. Ingestion of the ruminant feed mixture by a ruminant may increase the milk production or the milk fat content or both of milk produced by the ruminant.L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un mélange d'alimentation pour ruminants qui comprend les étapes suivantes : la préparation d'un premier mélange en combinant un constituant d'acide gras présentant un indice d'iode ne dépassant pas 10 avec au moins un matériau d'alimentation, la préparation d'un second mélange en combinant un agent tensioactif et au moins un constituant liquide, et le mélange du premier mélange et du second mélange afin d'obtenir le mélange d'alimentation pour ruminants. Le mélange d'alimentation pour ruminants est utilisé dans la fabrication de compositions alimentaires pour l'ingestion par les ruminants. L'ingestion du mélange d'alimentation pour ruminants par un ruminant peut augmenter la production laitière et/ou la teneur en matières grasses laitière du lait produit par le ruminant.
