PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a testing instrument capable of achieving an improvement on invasiveness in collecting a biological sample, and quickly starting the observation of the collected biological sample, and an observation method for the biological sample collected by the testing instrument.SOLUTION: A testing instrument includes a needle for biopsy to collect a biological sample. The needle for biopsy includes a sample holding part 4 for holding the collected biological sample, and a configuration in which an optical window 2 capable of performing optical detection is arranged at the sample holding part.
