PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting generation of algae from a bottom material of water such as lakes and marshes, and sea.
SOLUTION: The method for inhibiting growth of algae for inhibiting abnormal growth of the algae in the waters is configured to: introduce an inorganic material including calcium component at the bottom material of the waters such as lakes and marshes, and sea form a bottom material reforming part having a soil hardness of 50 kPa or more and the thickness of 10 cm or more by the calcium supplied from the introduced inorganic material 28 days after the introduction of the inorganic material and, thereby inhibit germination of a hypnozygote (cyst) of the algae and/or dormant cells presenting in the bottom material.
