PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-assemble and small-diameter scanning type observation device using a wide-angle light detection member having a wide light detection angle, the wide light detection angle being configured not to decrease even if liquid is attached to an end of the observation device.SOLUTION: A scanning type observation device comprises a scanning illumination optical system 10 to vibrate an illumination light fiber 10a to scan illumination light on an object, and at least one wide-angle light detection member 11 disposed laterally to the scanning illumination optical system 10.
