[Problem] To provide a composition for preventing the infection by a pneumococcus and preventing or inhibiting the infection from becoming severe during the occurrence of the infection.[Solution] A fermentation product of Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. Bulgaricus strain OLL1073R-1 which preferably contains living bodies of the bacterium, is used as a prophylactic agent for pneumococcal infection. The fermentation product is, for example, yoghurt or a lactic acid bacterium beverage. When a normal person ingests the fermentation product, it becomes possible to prevent the infection by a pneumococcus and to prevent or inhibit the infection from becoming severe during the occurrence of the infection.[Problème] Fournir une composition pour la prévention de l'infection par un pneumocoque et pour prévenir ou inhiber l'évolution de l'infection en infection grave pendant l'apparition de l'infection.
