PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contraction inhibitor for laurin-based oils and fats that can be added to laurin-based oils and fats for inhibition of its contraction.SOLUTION: A contraction inhibitor for laurin-based oils and fats comprises sorbitan fatty acid ester that satisfies the following conditions (A) and (B) as an active ingredient, wherein the condition (A) is that the content of 10-14C fatty acids in the constituent fatty acids is 20% or more and the condition (B) is that the esterification ratio is 30-85%.
