A lamp (1) for use under water, comprising: an electrical lighting means (13), electrical connections for the power supply of the electrical lighting means (13), and a housing (2), wherein the housing (2) is translucent at least in sections and defines a watertightly closable hollow space (7), wherein the electrical lighting means (13) and the electrical connections are arranged within the hollow space (7), wherein the housing (2) forms a mechanical shell (6) surrounding the hollow space (7), the mechanical shell (6) having a double curvature at each point of the shell (6)； and a use of the lamp (1) as a light bait when fishing.
