The method for the assessment of the destructive changes in the lungs in the AIDS patients with pneumocystosis provides for CT scan of the chest. Along with a detailed analysis of the identified changes, X-ray images are processed for calculating the sizes of the lesions. The first stage of the destructive changes (the initial changes) is ascertained when the single cyst-like round or oval translucencies (1-3 in number), less than 1-1.5 cm in size localized in one or two segments are evident. The second stage (limited destruction) is diagnosed when 4-8 cavities of destruction 1.6-2.0 cm in size localized bilaterally in 2-3 segments are detected. The third stage (widespread destruction) is determined when numerous (more than eight) cavities of destruction with the size exceeding 2.0 cm extended sometimes to both lungs are detected. The fourth stage (total destruction) is diagnosed when in case of the collapse of several lobules or the whole lung is recorded (i.e. the unilateral pneumothorax), especially in the case of subpleural localization of the cysts.Способ оценки деструктивных изменений легких при пневмоцистозе у больных СПИДом путем выполнения компьютерной томографии органов грудной клетки. Параллельно с детальным анализом выявленных изменений проводят рентгенограммометрические расчеты, и при появлении единичных кистообразных просветлений круглой или овальной формы (в количестве 1-3), одиночных, чаще с одной стороны размерами до 1-1,5 см, локализованных в одном или в двух сегментах, диагностируют первую степень (начальные изменения), вторую степень (ограниченная деструкция) диагностируют при формировании четырех-восьми полостей деструкции размерами 1,6-2,0 см, чаще с обеих сторон, как правило, без содержания, локализованных в двух-трех сегментах, третью степень (распространенная деструкция) определяют при формировании многочисленных полостей деструкции (более восьми) размерами более 2,0 см, с распространением в ряде случаев на оба легких, четвертую степень (тот
