The present invention relates to a method for calibrating, or adjusting, the level of oxygen in respiratory gas related to the level of oxygen in the blood circulation of the individual, comprising providing a level of oxygen in the gas flow passing into, or out, of the respiratory system of the individual and producing a corresponding first output, providing a level of oxygen in the blood circulation of the individual and producing a corresponding second output, providing a computer for receiving and storing at least two measurements, each measurement being the concurrent output of said first output and said second output within a data structure, in which the two stored outputs are mutually related, in data storage means associated with the computer, the at least two measurements being conducted at respective levels of oxygen in the gas flow passing into the respiratory system, and calibrating the level of oxygen in the gas value in response to a delay between the level of oxygen in the blood circulation of the individual and the level of oxygen in the gas flow passing into, or out, of the respiratory system of the individual.La présente invention concerne un procédé pour étalonner, ou ajuster, le niveau d'oxygène dans le gaz respiratoire par rapport au niveau d'oxygène dans le sang du sujet, consistant à détecter un niveau d'oxygène dans le flux gazeux pénétrant dans ou sortant du système respiratoire du sujet et à produire un premier signal de sortie correspondant, à détecter un niveau d'oxygène dans le sang du sujet et à produire un second signal de sortie correspondant, à utiliser un ordinateur pour recevoir et stocker au moins deux mesures, chaque mesure étant constituée par la sortie en parallèle du premier signal de sortie et du second signal de sortie au sein d'une structure de données dans laquelle les deux signaux de sortie stockés sont associés entre eux, dans un moyen de stockage de données associé à l'ordinateur, les au moins deux mesures étant réalisé
