The present invention relates to a method for detecting a position of a medical and dental prosthetics processing material and, more particularly, to a method for detecting a position of a base material for artificial teeth by which the position of the base material is detected by a pair of processing devices being brought into contact with the base material with a processing device for artificial teeth including a workpiece having one end coupled with the base material and the pair of processing devices formed on both side surfaces of the workpiece. The method according to the present invention includes: a step of initializing a sensor, the sensor being built into the workpiece (S100) a step of bringing the pair of processing devices into contact with the workpiece (S200) and a step of the sensor detecting a signal at a time when the pair of processing devices are brought into contact with the workpiece (S300).
