The present invention relates to the field of dyeing keratinous fibers and more particularly to the field of hair dyeing. The present invention relates to an assembly 2 containing at least one staining substrate 3, and at least one protective substrate 4a, 4b comprising one or more preserving agents, and it being understood that the staining substrate (s) 3 are different from the protective substrate (s). 4a, 4b.
