Use of a vegetable extract (I) obtained from genus Linum, genus Zea, genus Helianthus or the species Glycine max or Brassica napus mainly made of proteic/peptidic compounds, optionally in combination with another active agent, is claimed in the preparation of cosmetic, dermatologic and/or pharmaceutical composition, to enhance the augmentation of melanin synthesis in melanocytes of the epidermis or hair bulb and improves the natural pigmentation of the skin. ACTIVITY : Dermatological. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Melanogenesis stimulator. The ability of (I) to enhance the augmentation of the melanin synthesis in melanocytes of the epidermis was tested using human skin biopsies. The result showed that there was a sharp increase in the melanin synthesis and a stimulation of the whole process of melanin distribution in epidermis (after 48 hours of the treatment).
