PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide flaky powder which is excellent in slipperiness on skin, transparency, and concealing capacity due to a soft focus effect, and which prevents sebum shininess, when used as a cosmetic material.SOLUTION: Flaky powder contains a layered double hydroxide represented by compositional formula Zn(OH)Cl.nHO (n=1-8) of 80 wt.% or more based on the total weight, in which 90 wt.% or more of particles of the layered double hydroxide are flakes having an aspect ratio of 10 or more.【課題】化粧品の材料として用いた場合に、肌上のすべり性、透明性、ソフトフォーカス効果による隠蔽性が良好で且つ皮脂のテカリを防止することができる薄片状粉末を提供する。【解決手段】組成式Zn5(OH)8Cl2・nH2O(n=1~8)で表される層状複水酸化物を全重量に対して80重量%以上含有し、前記層状複水酸化物の粒子の90重量%以上がアスペクト比10以上の薄片である薄片状粉末。【選択図】図1
