An orthosis (1) comprises a trunk portion (2) and at least one limb portion (3), wherein the limb portion (3) is made of an elastic textile material and, when used as intended, a body extremity of a user from the trunk portion (2) up to an end region (6) of the limb section (3) facing away from the body section (2) is enveloped at least in sections, thereby exerting a compression effect. The limb section (3) has a functional seam (5) extending along the limb section (3) from the trunk section (2) to the opposite end section (6), wherein the two edge regions (7, 7) connected to one another along the functional seam (5) 8) of the elastic textile material have a different bias. The limb portion (3) is made of a single material blank of the elastic textile material and has no further seam besides the functional seam (5) extending along the limb portion (3) from the trunk area (2) to the end area (6) of the limb portion (3) extends. A first seam length of a first edge region (7) of the elastic textile material is shorter than a second seam length of a second edge region (8) of the elastic textile material of the limb section (3), so that the first edge region (7) is biased along the functional seam (FIG. 5) is connected to the second edge region (8). A center line of the limb section (3) extending from the trunk section (2) to the end section (6) of the limb section (3) has a curved course.
