PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which prevents skin rash of a wearer and suppresses generation of a bad odor.SOLUTION: An absorbent article includes a fumaric acid containing sheet. In the fumaric acid containing sheet, a sheet base material using paper as a main material contains fumaric acid. A content rate of the fumaric acid in the fumaric acid containing sheet ranges from 0.00015 mass% to 1.5 mass%. The fumaric acid does not dissolve immediately and gradually dissolves when making contact with body fluids (urine, blood, or the like), thereby preventing the fumaric acid containing sheet and the periphery from being alkaline for a long time.
