PURPOSE: A lactic acid extract of Chionoecetes japonicus shells and a cosmetic composition containing the same for skin moisturization are provided to have excellent moisture retention, emulsification, and oil stability, and to manufacture a cosmetic product and a functional food with an improved moisturizing function. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for skin moisturization contains a lactic acid extract of Chionoecetes japonicus shells as an active ingredient. Chionoecetes japonicus shells are Chionoecetes japonicus leg shells.
