The present invention relates to a composition for improving muscularity containing a Scytosiphon lomentaria extract or a fraction thereof as an active component. The Scytosiphon lomentaria hot-water extract binds with myostatin in a concentration-dependent manner without cytotoxicity to hinder combination of myostatin and a receptor, thereby exhibiting an anti-myostatin effect.
